Salesforce Sales Cloud vs Service Cloud Comparison
One of the key components of passing the CTA — and in fact, being a good architect who can help clients navigate the incredibly complex Salesforce licensing model — is understanding what features and objects are included in each license type, and what add-ons can and cannot be purchased.
One of the common misconceptions is that “Service Cloud is just Sales Cloud with extra stuff”. This is outdated information, from back when Sales & Service Cloud came in one license bundle. Nowadays, there are features that are unique to each Cloud (and that’s not even mentioning all the other options you have — Platform licenses that have access to core features/objects, Experience Cloud external users and their object and feature access have overlaps and exclusions, too.
For the purposes of this comparison article , I am comparing Unlimited Edition inclusions from standard Sales Cloud and standard Service Cloud licenses only to try to dispel the myths.
I’m sure that by the next release this will become out of date so to be clear, this information is from what I’ve been able to find in June 2022. I’ve done my utmost to include only correct information with reference links so you can see for yourself — please don’t feel shy to correct me in the comments if you notice anything.
How to Read
I’ve used Airtable for the tables because there’s no inherent table formatting in Medium. In the bottom right of each embedded table click “View larger version” to open the full table in a new tab. Click “Copy base” to copy the whole table and paste it into some other table like excel, sheets, word etc.
